A second egg in plain water should have been added to the experiment. How do we know all liquids, not just coke, wont peel the egg?

This might have proven something if you had a second egg in plain water or perhaps a third egg with seawater. I theorize all three eggs will lose their shells after just a few weeks. This experiment though is meaningless without a control egg to compare against.
