Well, I've been lifting pretty much most of my life. Started when I was about 13 so that would make 28 years or so. I didn't start competitions in bench until April 2004. I went to an APA-WPA meet in Bradenton,FL and opened with 425 in my t-shirt and spandex shorts. My third lift was 455 and I weighed in at 212. I entered the drug free division in submasters and happen to set Florida records that still stand. Had I known I would have entered other divisions because that weight surpasses the american open and submasters as well. I decided to start competing after I realized that I was pretty strong for my size. I used to work out at Bally's and figured gyms like Gold's was were everyone benched over 400. I've been benching over 400 since 1994. I hold World, National and state records in the WNPF in the 220,242 and 275 weight classes. Best raw lift in competition is 496 and in the gym is 535 touch and go, best shirted is 585. In the gym I have paused 635. I prefer to lift without a shirt because I just can't seem to get that technique down and I guess feel like I never will. I have never used any illegal strength enhancing drugs. Met-Rx and Muscletech products are my preference and of course a daily dose of a multivitamin and glucosamine.
