About Me:

Welcome to my channel!

My videos are meant to educate, entertain and foster discussion of Ayn Rand's work and her philosophy of Objectivism.

I'm 39, and a long time student of the philosophy. I'm from Dallas originally (hence the "ex" in my screen name) but I live in NY now. I'm a writer and composer. I wrote book, music and lyrics for an adaptation of "The Picture of Dorian Gray" that was premiered in CT a while back, and I just completed a 2-act farce that takes place the weekend of the Kennedy Assassination. As a composer, my vocal compositions are being performed by classical groups fairly often.

I had never tried my hand at film editing before these YouTube videos. I find I enjoy the craft of it a lot. I post as often as I can so please have patience- these videos take a lot of time!

Please comment and rate- that's the only value I ask in return for the work- just to know that I've engaged another's mind in appreciation of these ideas and ideals. Morally, I ask that my subscribers and viewers purchase Rand's novels and non-fiction themselves and view this channel as merely an ongoing discussion and exploration of those works we all legitimately own. If you would like to show apprciation, please donate on my behalf to the Ayn Rand Institute by visiting www.aynrand.org. Thank you!

MorningThief- the other voices are friends of mine, though I do use an electronically altered Christopher Hurt "Who is John Galt" and in Episode #1 I use a line from Edward Hermann's abridged reading of Atlas ("Listen to Mr. Thompson..."). There is a new reading- the Hurt version is actually out of print which is one of the reasons I use it- I like it much better than the current version which is read by Scott Brick

Mr. Champ- interesting you should ask, but I'm working on technical issues right now- just made some great MP4 files. I don't know if I'll re-upload here though. If I upload on some other accessible site I'll let everybody know. I made myself a DVD with menus too which is great to have- sorry to tease but I can't and don't distribute anything commercially. I really need to get cooking or else it'll be another year before I finish! But better to have it done right than to rush- whatever I create I think will be around awhile

I'm a huge fan of the series and was wondering if higher quality mp4's are available for download.

i recently downloaded the audiobook version of Atlas Shrugged, & i was relieved it was the one with Christopher Hurt. i've barely gone 1/12th of the way but i was wondering where you got all the other voices for your vids. the other voices that stick out from memory is from your 2nd episode of the Orig. series, the woman who recites the Marxist line "...from each according to his ability (etc.)". & especially the various other voices reciting the "Who is John Galt" line (ep. 14 of the Orig. series).

from what i'v gathered in my few hours of this audiobook, it seems it'll be only Christopher Hurt's voice, & no other part of Atlas Shrugged will be read by anyone else. perhaps i'm wrong & maybe in the later part of the novel i'll hear the other voiced characters.

is there another audiobook version of Atlas Shrugged out there?

thanks.

PS- I wrote a new play in October called "Adrenaline Junkie"- it was great to finish something different and it was amazing how quickly it was written (my farce "Oswald on Ice" took 8 years- "Adrenaline Junkie" took about a week). It's good to be busy. I will try to speed up the Galt assembly line- I wax and wane in energies and enthusiasm and I don't want to cut any corners.

Hello all! Sorry for not updating more regularly. I am working on standardizing and exporting all the episodes to date, creating a HD DVD for myself and the best possible MP4s etc of everything that's been done so far. I've been really lax technically (it's not the part that interests me) and this housekeeping had to be done. The best thing is someday I will be able to upload super-high-def versions that are much prettier.

I will be uploading a new Episode #9 within the week.

If people lived by the mentality of John Galt life would not have those who mooch be so successful, we need to build a mine is mine atitude. That is what I call my axiom and what I am teaching my kids. that is the question I will ask my politicians "how much of mine is mine?"
This is what I got from Atlas.

Hello sir,

I am not a libertarian, but I really enjoyed watching your videos about John Galt. The values he speaks of are ones we all can relate to. I only watched the first version but I am about to start watching the second version. You have an amazing ability at finding the right images, some of them are obvious, and others come from less known sources (like French cinema). Keep up the good work!
