I flew those birds, very very capable airplane. Whether it was failed as if on a checkride or just on the line, PIC flew very well indeed. Kept aircraft heading with left rudder and lowered pitch to preserve airspeed. Good work! hope the landing worked out !!

Like a B52 pilot found out, you cannot stunt transport category airplanes to the point where it simply gives up. The Air Force should not allow this kind of performance under their auspices. The airplane entered an almost 90 degree bank, just like the ill fated buff that went in. RIP

what is that thing loaded to 1/4 capacity maybe, great performance. I think they were using standard EPR instead of max.

I have put two flights on it so far, it is a great flying airplane, the engines are alittle balky to start though. thanks

sorry for your loss; very fixable though. I think the airplane was very tailheavy. Did you CG it? I was watching the tail which didn't fly for a long time after power applied. The airplane will be a great flyer when balanced out. Good luck.

I just bought one for a half scale triplane. It weighs 32lbs, is about 18" across, each cylinder is about 5 and 1/2 inches tall, will swing a 42x20 inch prop. How much? well, remember the old Rolls Royce ads, if you have to ask the price you can't afford it. It is a magnificent looking and soun...

nicely done; I've got the same airplane, use the flaps...they are extremely effective for slow approaches with a steep glide...and she doesn't pickup speed just like full scale PA22 .

I never did see anything like that before...in all my years in the cockpit, my relationship with the mechs were always topnotch. I always thanked them for their efforts and they knew it. I don't know what could have been said between these two guys, but I can say it isn't standard ops.

Ok, I give up.; whats the point of the five blades? On a Waco??? mine has the same engine with a two blade 32x18. I must say the five blades looks ridiculous

great airplane ! But, why WHY is that guy standing right abeam and in front of the damned prop?? Pretty stupid considering the four blades spread about 12 feet or more.

Hey, FYI, no swastika was EVER on ANY WWI airplane. Iron crosses and maltese crosses only. You have a scale DVII but it looks ridiculous with those markings. Totally unscale, whynot redo them and make a great airplane.

Like the B52 accident at Fairchild which killed all aboard some years back, pilots trying to stunt an airplane that really is not capable of it. Unless there was uncommanded rudder movement, it appears that the pilots were horsing the airplane. Just look at the angle of climb after rotation. ...
