This channel is for people who are afflicted with social phobia/social anxiety disorder (SAD). If you need support, then this is definitely the place to be! I will start posting videos here regarding what it is like to live with SAD. You are NOT alone in your struggle. Okay?

This channel is also for wasp enthusiasts and people who want to learn more about social wasps (aka: hornets, yellowjackets & paper wasps).

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and/or just want to talk. Here is my email address:

About Me:

I am a gay white male who is affectionate, kind, caring, loving, compassionate, understanding, nonjudgmental, sweet, passionate, honest, sincere, gentle, laid-back, easy-going, open-minded, mellow, etc... I am also the shy, quiet type. However, I will grow more comfortable around a person once I get to know him/her better. I am more of a listener than a talker. Please feel free to ask me anything at all if you want to know more about me. Here is my Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/Ho...

I am afflicted with social phobia/social anxiety disorder (SAD). I stay inside my small one-bedroom apartment 99% of the time because of the crippling effects of my SAD. I have to literally force myself to do simple things which involve social interaction that most people take for granted such as going to the grocery store, talking on the phone, etc... My home is both my refuge and my prison.

I want to be around people because I desperately need that support and human contact. Yet, at the same time, I shun people because of my SAD. It is a "catch 22" for me. I am damned if I do and damned if I don't! The thing I need the most (social contact) is also the thing that causes me the most anxiety! This is waaaaay beyond mere shyness for me. This is living hell that I would not wish upon my worst enemy! My SAD gets in my way and causes me to isolate myself. It has screwed up my life because it has negatively impacted every single part of it. I HATE IT!!!

I don't really have any friends in real life. The contact which I have with my boyfriend (who lives with me) is the main real life human contact that I have... besides going to the grocery store. Everyone else who I care about (family and friends) live in different states. I keep in touch with them through emails. Also, I make the effort to call my dad on the phone once per month. I have an active social life online, but not in real life. Communicating with people online is where I feel the most comfortable. It is where I can be myself because I am behind a computer screen and not in front of a person. My SAD kicks my butt when I am around people (I am fine as long as I am not dealing with people!). I have good days and bad days with my SAD. My apartment and my computer are both my safety zones.

As a result of my SAD, I am just merely existing... NOT living! Being afflicted with SAD is no way to live! It is sad to say, but I might as well be dead. The reason why I am still alive is because I made a promise to myself a long time ago that I would not take my own life and that I would never give up. This is a glimpse into my life living with SAD.

Please read the information in these links if you want to learn more about my affliction and how it affects me:

I am also an expert on social wasps (as a hobby). These fascinating creatures have beautiful nests in my humble opinion! I am always looking for more impressive nests to add to my collection. Please let me know if you have access to any. If you don't currently know where any nests are, then please keep me in mind for the future from now on. Thanks!

Here is a link which will take you to an active forum where wasp enthusiasts (nest collectors & wasp keepers) hang out. This is a wonderful community! Here ya go:

This is THE place on the internet for bee & wasp enthusiasts! This is my regular hangout spot on the web. My screen name there is "Hornetboy". I hope to see you there!
Hometown:
Baton Rouge (I am currently living in Tulsa.)
Country:
United States
Schools:
Shawnee High School - Class of 1990
Interests:
I am an avid collector of abandoned wasp nests. I specialize in GIANT nests (The bigger the better!). My fattest addition is an overwintered southern yellowjacket (Vespula squamosa) nest. My tallest addition is a huge bald-faced hornet (Dolichovespula maculata) nest which measures a whopping 40 inches tall! This is nearly 3 1/2 feet tall!!! I also have an enormous red wasp (Polistes annularis) nest which is literally the size of a dinner plate! Of course, I have many other awe-inspiring nests in my extensive collection. Just like other people who spend hours golfing or collecting baseball cards or whatever else, my passion is no different. The reason why I am so passionate about wasps is because the nests that they build are very beautiful and intricate. Their awesome nests are "masterpieces of nature" in my humble opinion!
Movies:
I really enjoy mostly horror movies & wildlife documentaries. In fact, I have a growing DVD library which includes titles such as "The Thing", "The Howling", "An American Werewolf in London", "Fright Night", "Jaws", "Jeepers Creepers", "Poltergeist", "Creepshow", etc... There are many many more which are in my collection!
Music:
I really enjoy different genres such as New Age music, Native American music, 80's music (rock, pop, etc...), Techno, rave, dance, club, electro, etc... and Cajun/Zydeco music. I especially love New Age music! This is music to "chill out" with. It is food for the soul. Some great New Age groups/artists that I highly recommend are Enigma, Deep Forest, B-Tribe, Delerium, Sacred Spirit, Cusco and Enya. My ULTIMATE FAVORITE is Enigma! OMG!!! I absolutely love Enigma's incredible music! Start with Enigma's "Sadeness" and go from there. This song is the one that put Enigma on the map. Some other great Enigma songs include "Return to Innocence", "Beyond the Invisible", "Principles of Lust", "I Love You... I'll Kill You", "T.N.T. For The Brain", "Age Of Loneliness", "Rivers of Belief", etc... I could go on and on! Enigma has LOTS of awesome songs!
