About this user

I first began being a student of the guitar in Janurary of the year 2009. As of today (Jan 7, 2011) I have been playing guitar for about a two years or so. I first fell in love with rock when I listened to the album "Dookie" By Green Day. As you may have guessed, I am devoted to Punk Rock. However, I am also a lover of the Red Hot Chili Peppers (John Frusciante's Fender Strat Skills=AMAZING!), the Beatles, Guns N' Roses (go Slash!), Audioslave and Rage Against The Machine (both have Tom Morello), Smashing Pumpkins, blink-182, and The Who. That doesn't mean I don't like all the other rock bands. I love pretty much all rock, (as well as a variety of other music genres). So, enjoy my journey for I am hoping to collaborate with some of the famous guitarists of Youtube such as Ocrue and gewerh44 and I hope to leave a good impression on them.

My Philosophy On Music and the Electric Guitar

The electric guitar is probably the most recognized and popular instrument of todays society. The reason why is because the instrument itself is involved with many of todays popular artists. It is has become one of the icons of the music industry. Usually the electric guitar is associated with the general genre of rock music. Over the past 50 years, many musicians and constructors have revolutionized and contributed to the history of the electric guitar. These include the body shapes of the guitar, the sound of the guitar, the amplifiers that channel the electric guitars sounds, pedals that allow the user to reach a variety of sounds, electronics for the guitar, ways to make the guitar squeal, scream, cry, moan, groan, bellow, screech, the list goes on and on.

A lot of people judge guitarists ability in many ways and opinions. It seems like the most common way people judge guitarists (especially on Youtube) nowadays is if guitarists can and only perform guitar covers 100 percent correctly and not change anything. For those that do this, this isnt Guitar Hero where you can get addicted and lose your life to playing a song over and over so that we can replicate what the guitarist is playing. First of all, we cant replicate the exact sound since we dont have thousand dollar equipment to use. Second, whats wrong with changing a little bit of the song? If someone wants to change the solo a bit or cant play the solo ENTIRELY correct to the STUDIO VERSION where the guitarist practiced MANY times and that the guitarist has been playing for MANY MANY MANY MANY.MANY years. Its their job, of course theyll make it sound as complicated and cool as possible. Ive only been playing for a year, I dont expect myself to learn a bad ass wah wah solo from Enter Sandman or Sweet Child O Mine 100 percent correct. We post covers to pay our tribute to this artist, to practice and mark our journey of playing the guitar, to find our style thatll we use when we play and write our own songs, and mostly to have fun. I think the best way to judge a guitarist is that he or she will take a song, learn it, and at the right times, improvise or replace certain riffs or notes with different sequences in order to make the song sound new and interesting. It allows the guitarist to express his feelings through the instrument and to practice making his own riffs. Also, Im very interested in guitarists that can bring back popular styles from older generations back to modern society and make it appealing to the modern generation. Examples include Jack White of The White Stripes (mixed garage rock, punk, and Chicago blues) and Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day (brought back the 70s punk rock but for the 90s generation).
