@mrrigobo Our parakeets love romaine lettuce, carrots, corn on the cob, oranges . . . many fruits and veggies, though some are harmful. If you search online, you'll find even more foods they enjoy and that are healthy for them. They REALLY love corn on the cob. =)

@adtrkennedy I'm sorry about your loss too. Some folks are dog people, and some folks are cat people, but we bird people sure love our keets. I'm so glad to hear your parakeet dad has also been a great one. =)

@adtrkennedy It was terribly sad when the father died. He was old and weak and hardly able to move, but he wouldn't stop taking care of the babies, bringing them food, and trying to keep them warm.

Squirt was simply the last one who hatched. Since all the chicks including her were hand-fed, she ate as much as her sisters, and she caught up to them (in weight) fast. She's still cute as a button. =)
