Not only have I loved this music since the 1970s, I was blessed to actually know the Corea family, and spent a lot of great times with them. As down to earth folks as you'd ever want to meet.

Take Six' version of Come Unto Me is without a doubt, one of the most difficult pieces for any a capella group to perform to perfection, but these guys did a wonderful job. Kudos!

This is perhaps the pinnacle of the Temptation's vocalistic sound painting. The background vocals in this song are a radical break from the usual gorgeous harmonies they employed.

I'm old enough to remember when this was a hit on KGFJ AM in Los Angeles. Boy, am I old.... LOL

Man, what memories this song brings back. For those who weren't there, all I can say, is that it was a magical time. Anything off the Top 40 of those days would easily be a platinum seller today. The music of the era was THAT good.

Without a doubt, one of the dreamiest, most soulful, fantasy love songs ever recorded. I wore out a couple of copies of this record back in the day.

As Sly said, "different strokes for different folks." I loved the Beatles, and just about everyone else from that era.

When Jimi Hendrix was asked, "What up and coming new artists do you like?", he replied, "Sly. Yeah, Sly & The Family Stone." You can hear their influence on Jimi's Band of Gypsies album. "Stand" is still one of the best albums of all time. I must have worn out at least two copies back in the day.

Damn, how I miss real artists like Al Green. He made some of the best R&B ever heard.

I still have my original copy of The Emancipation of Hugh Masekela on vinyl from the 60s. This has always been my favorite cut, and it was a big hit on R&B radio back then.

Lisa E has addressed the subject of what music is chosen for Jackie many times. Per Lisa, Jackie and her trainers know Jackie's vocal limits, and don't push past them. Jackie has some of the best people in the field beside her. They'd never let her hurt her voice.
