Willem Tanke is a critically acclaimed performer of organ works by J.S. Bach, Max Reger and Olivier Messiaen. From 2003, as a professor at Rotterdam Conservatoire, he has been organizing yearly Messiaen Study Days. Videos with organ works by Messiaen are part of a DVD-set, issued by Brilliant Classics in 2008. Willem Tanke also makes research into new ways of playing keyboard instruments (including the piano). Some of the piano videos show (former) students of Rotterdam Conservatoire who participate(d) with this research.
