I saw McKellen's "Lear" live in L.A. and London. Absolutely sublime ... beyond memorable. The DVD is great, but it's not (of course) anything like the theatrical experience ... plus (or minus) it was edited for time.

Poet William Blake said "Exuberance is beauty." This is pure exuberance.

VR has some good songs, but - unlike most STP songs - most Velvet Revolver songs do not seem to stand the test of time. "Last Fight" is VR's last gasp. Song-wise, Stone Temple Pilots' oldest albums sound fresher and cooler today than any of VR's formulaic raunch.

STP doing Zep's "Dancing Days" - looks like a rocking time! I wanted to be there, but I had to come home to Regina (home of the most loyal football fans on the planet, doncha know).

The "if a horse ... " part proves that repetition equals comedy (and annoyance) if it's done right.

The new album has a shot of Scot 'n the boys jumping in the air like the famous Beatles picture. Weiland once said paying Beatles songs is "religious" (i.e., STP's cover of "Revolution"). Anyone hear a bit of "Helter Skelter" in "Trippin'" ...?
