WILD WIDOW is a Belgian Rock / Blues-Rock / Folk-Rock Band born in September 2007 from the meeting of "SULLY Mc Fly", Country Rock / Rock singer, and "SCRATCHING DOG", independent studio session and live guitar player.
Sharing the same musical spirit, they soon discover how complementary they are through their efficient co-operation, their writing of original lyrics and the composition of elaborated melodies. Scratch is prolific with his riffs and compositions, while Sully structures them, determining the singing lines and writing the lyrics.
Because they chose to play their own repertoire, keen to avoid the "tribute of...", they accumulate enough titles in only a few weeks to feel the need to lock themselves in a studio, in order to record their first album. So, they will broaden their association by searching talented musicians with similar ideas or artistic feelings and who, of course, play the necessary instruments, in line with their musical influences such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Sonny Boy, etc.
WILD WIDOW doesn't make any traditional Blues nor do they play simple Rock either. The Band's compositions are full of surprises, be it because of the variety of their rhythms or the identity of their own particular sounds.
They entered into the studio in February 2008 and striving for perfection, they worked diligently for 10 long months on their first album named «ON THE ROCKS», which was ready by the end of the year, featuring a very nice Christmas gift!
This was going to be a "test album" for the new Band with positively surprising results which even exceeded their expectations!
Success Around The Corner
Many fans ordered the album and the immediate success intrigued various people from the Media. Subsequently, a first interview was scheduled in March 2009 with Pierre Guyaut (Classic 21 "Rock" RTBF). It was followed with another one very shortly after, this time with Radio Quartz in April 2009, in "The Wind of the Blues", presented by Tanguy Urbain. Their success is confirmed!
Today, their first album is broadcasted nationally but also internationally, travelling on the waves of small and major radios in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, the UK and the Netherlands, but also in Canada and in the United States. Cherry on the cake: WILD WIDOW is one of the "Happy Few's" amongst the European Bands who already have their own fan-club overseas. Currently, they count several hundreds of fervent supporters of the Band's "Rock" music on the other side of the Ocean.
Another interview was organized at Radio Centre FM (Fun Radio), in September 2010, in Séverine Chambers' broadcast "Le Mag' de Sev'". This was followed by a first show-case in Liège, Belgium, on October 24th, 2010. Then came a new interview on the Classic 21 "Blues" program. They were invited by Francis Delvaux in "Blues Café" on November 22nd, 2010 (Classic 21 Mons / RTBF), a live broadcast with numerous guests. This radio program and the mini-concert given by WILD WIDOW have been integrally recorded. This show also gave the Band the opportunity to widely unveil a couple of new unpublished titles...
A Second Album
WILD WIDOW's second album should be available within 2011. The --pretty sophisticated-- arrangements made in the studio were recently finalised. In the meantime, two "singles" have been "pressed": "YOU AND I" with "JEZEBEL" as a bonus song and "ONLY RAIN", a touching slow melody, with "HOT MAMA" as a bonus, too. Lately, a Special Collector's CD was edited within the frame of a second show-case: "THE LAND BEYOND THE HILLS". This show-case was held in private for the Grand Opening of the Sergeant Pepper's Concert Hall in Taviers (Eghezée, Belgium).
During 2009 and 2010, various shows and show-cases made it possible for a wide audience to discover this Belgian Band whose International hopes are justified. Rightly, since in November 2010, WILD WIDOW crowns the end of the year by performing at the "SPIROUDOME" in Charleroi, in front of over 5,000 people and a strictly selected audience of International VIP's.
Numerous concerts are currently negotiated by their manager in Belgium as well as in other Countries.
