Coming to the end of August; our whales have been showing up steadily since we started the Whale Watching season earlier this month. Right now they seem to be busy bubble net feeding on a very regular basis. Many of our passengers comment about our trips been like watching a National Geographic video. Actually it's better; because you are actually part of the show!!!!!! We are very privileged on the north coast to be able to watch this kind of wildlife right on our door step. Whale warching will keep going on until the end of September. Also; right now I am using a small Canon video-cam. Very handy!

Sad news!
One of our favorite grizzly has been shot dead. The bear featured in the "Speedo Boy" video has been shot in the vicinity of Port Simpson. According to ealy reports: Sports fishermen had been feeding the bear from Sommerville island and downward towards Work Channel and further south in the direction of the village of Port Simpson(Lax-Kw'Alaams). It is unclear at this point why it was shot or where exactly. No matter what, the final result is that we have lost another beautiful creature because of the ignorance and plain stupidity of a few. This is a reminder that bears should never be fed or habituated in a manner that will bring them too close to human activity and habitations. Sports fishermen and visitors along the coast (and the interior for that matter) should educate themselves about wildlife BEFORE they venture out. What seemed to be an innocent and fun moment for a few resulted in a big loss for a lot of us. Take care of our wildlife. Watch it and enjoy, that's all.

To the viewers of Wildnormy's channel: When viewing the videos: On the right side of the screen, the videos can be chosen by scrolling down. The 1st 12 videos are some that I like or felt that could be of general interest and were taken at random dates. After the 12th one, they are scrolling by order of the dates they were taken. again keep in mind that a small Pentax camera was used to film these little videos, therefor the bears were actually quite close and were seen by the passengers much larger than what they appear on the videos.
