Right wing "Christian" hypocrisy has gotten so bad they don't even mind going public with it anymore. Witness self-described Christian & self-demonstrated whiner Carrie Prejean laying claim to victimhood and suing for damages including pain and suffering because she didn't do her job as a beauty pageant winner so they fired her. Goddamn it's a good thing she didn't get any hot coffee spilled on her, ya think? Just think of the personal responsibility she could have ducked! Integrity she could have discarded! Unfortunately in the present situation she isn't exactly repeating an earlier event she almost certainly has cluck-cluckked over with her right wing pals, and she no doubt has done everything she can to build a case that she is entirely justified in being the kind of parasite that her kind so often characterizes apparently frivolous litigants as. She now represents a complete and total parody of the right wing value system!

There doesn't seem to be any way she can win in court because it has been known for some time that she hasn't been meeting her obligations, and she's been given every consideration so far. Instead of doing her job she has been on the lecture circuit gaining sympathy by badmouthing her employers and I would not be at all surprised if that was a factor in their shedding themselves of her. She must have been lectured several times by now by various suits so she's got to understand she isn't likely to prevail in the case, so one wonders why she is going forward with it? Is she just a sympathy whore who so craves that kind of attention that she'll create it deliberately? From her high horse she seems to want to make the issue about her religion, and it doesn't seem at all farfetched to consider it likely that she has some advisors with religious-based agendas influencing her for their own reasons. I wonder if the plan could include getting passed new laws giving Christians special status, wouldn't that be perfectly fitting? Or maybe they even know they're going to lose but are doing it for another fifteen minutes of fame or other monetary reward, like maybe she's going to write a book! She needs to whip the dead horse back to life for just a little while longer if she is going to sell many though. It's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out, I predict 9.5.09 that she will lose the case and within THREE months (worst case four) will release a book about all the Christian-bashing she suffered. Oh Jesus give me a break you might think, but we are talking about people who believe in talking snakes after all so nothing is impossible. While we can only guess now how the hypocrisy will unfold, mark my words the day is going to come when we will know pretty much all the inside story. This is going to be a moderately interesting one to watch and to blog about. Thank you Carrie for providing yet another perfect example of the kind of Christian right winger that we have to be careful never is allowed to impose their inverted perverted value system upon us.

Sometimes though I am almost thankful there are right wingers in the world to remind me of the savagery of earlier times when things were so much worse (Inquisitions, Crusades, torture et cetera) that they would bring back if they could and do bring back sometimes as much as they can (i.e Bush/Cheney). By knowing we could fully enter another Dark Ages if the religious conservatives had their way (look at all the ones who would welcome Armageddon, even want to spark it, typical scenario nuclear war in the Mideast spreading worldwide and the Rapture gloriously upon us), with people actually pushing for such horror I think we remain much less complacent about our freedoms and the kind of society we want to live in because of them. We fight them more, push back more vigorously and often. Because they will indeed drag us back if they can, always and only backward. Backward morally, backward spiritually, backward materially, and backward mentally. Everything about the right wing worldview is poisonous to the human spirit and soul, as evidenced by the massive hate and fear expressed against other races and countries and immigrants and government and Obama and Hillary and Bill and religions and so many other things, like they must soak in hate and fear 24/7. No sane person wants to live that way and therefore no sane person wants the negative values of the right wing to be forced on them. Sane people prefer instead to engage in productive and humanitarian enterprises that build up our society and culture instead of tearing it down, eroding it from the inside with hate and fear feeding division and strife, Rush Limbaugh style. We are Americans and we are supposed to stand for something better, much better.
