My name is Martyn, from Scotland in the UK.

I have started this channel as a bit of fun and as a way to broadcast my favourite Filipino songs and my attempts to cover them!

I should perhaps explain a bit about the name 'WhiteySingsTagalog'!

'Tagalog' is the most spoken language in the Philippines although there are several.

'Sing' is perhaps an exageration...I should have put 'Attempts to sing' but the name would be too long!!

'Whitey' is a remark made by passers by at my friend whilst we spent time in the Philippines. 'Whitey' is not an intentionally offensive remark although it was quite surprising. So I thought I would surprise Filipinos in return by showing them that even Whiteys can sing tagalog!!!

I think there is a stereotype of Whites or generally mga banyaga sa Pilipinas which has alot to do with history. Hopefully my covers can help remove this stereotype!
