In Norse mythology, Odin is referred to as "raven-god" due to his association with Huginn and Muninn.
Huginn (thought) and Muninn (mind or memory) are a pair of ravens that fly daily aross the entire world, to bring the god Odin information.
They are Odins shamanic spirit helpers, helping him with healing practices on the battlefield and problems elsewhere.
The two ravens are described in the prose "Edda" as sitting perched on Odin's shoulders.
Odin is associated with wisdom, war, magic, poetry and prophesy, he gave Huginn and Muninn the ability to speak.
