hi, im looking to buy my first dslr and im split between a canon 1000d and a nikon d60 what do you think i should go for?

I am having a hard time choosing between D5000 and T1i . They are closely priced but in some reviews I see that T1i does not have custom scene modes?

I have been watching your videos and I have a couple questions. I am thinking of buying the Canon Rebel T1i, and have seen/heard some mixed things about it and hoping you can help. I heard that it is missing a lot of the regular settings and features? also that you can not use the LCD screen when doing videos or in live shoot or in auto mode for shooting pictures??? I also heard the battery life was very crappy and that when shooting video the camera has a problem shutting off on it's own. I hope you can help answer my questions. Thanks, love the vids btw
