Whale Wars is a show about ordinary people doing EXTRAordinary things. These people are on a boat called the "Sea Shepherd". They work to stop the whaling being conducted by Japanese fleets. The Japanese claim they are merely doing research. Killing one thousand(1,000) whales a year for research? Doesnt sound like research to me.
