About Me:
Bill was born in Detroit, Michigan when his father gave up a thriving Law practice and political career to raise his two sons near his wife's family in California.
Bill grew up in the suburbs of the San Francisco, Oakland Bay Area in the little township of Moraga.
He attended the vernerabe old curriculum at the California College of Arts and Crafts, that was origianally founded as a Woman's Art College in 1907.
From there, and after an intensive review process, Bill was accepted into the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He had always yearned to be accepted into Art Center in order to study with his hero, Burne Hogarth, who pioneered figurative illustration for the newspapers of the early part of theTwentieth Century.
Bill then transferred to the Film Wing at Art Center to storyboard, and even act in some Independant films and commercials.
Bill brings his years of Illustration training, and figurative draftsmanship to life in his masterful Oil Paintings depicting the Expansion West to the heady times of the Great Gold Rush of California. And his sense of The West's sweeping narrative is deftly handled by one so acclimated to the rendering of a visual saga.
As he is known to say, "I've always been facinated in the fabrication of scenes in the unfolding of a great and interesting story."
