I'm a 42 year old woman, struggling with the after-math of same-gender abuse and making it my life's mission to raise awareness on monchowson's disease and stockholme syndrome, a deadly combination in domestic relationships. As I heal and grow, I'm adding whatever tool's and coping skill's to my book that I've found most useful in aiding me in my own recovery. My intent is to help other victim's look for the cue's and clue's and encourage them to break free from their abuser's, and helping friend's and family member's better understand our state of mind in our own abusive word's and action's towards them in our desperate melt-down, while our abuser's abuse us. Hopefully, friend's and family member's can find it in their own heart's to forgive us for the choices we've made to pacify our abuser's and meet their condition's. As The Eagles's Don Henley says, "The heart of the matter is forgiveness."It's been just over a year since I broke free from my abusive partner, and I really haven't been forgiven by the people closest to me, who I loved and lost in the choices I made. I know as well, that I must learn to forgive my abuser, so that I can be free of the bitterness and resentfulness that still lurks inside of me, because only then will I truly be able to heal and move forward. Love has a strong hold on all of us, but there is a healthy kind of love and a sick kind of love.
I visit YouTube to relax with inspirational and up-lifting song's, and often-times, triggering and not so up-lifting song's and music. I'm trying to get a grip and stay away from the sad stuff.
