About this user
Our group simulates waves on supercomputers. Our research is sponsored by the Office of Naval Research. We are very grateful to the DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) for providing supercomputing hours to us ( http://www.hpcmo.hpc.mil ). The Numerical Flow Analysis (NFA) computer code is used to perform the simulations. The breaking wave animations are created by the Data Analysis Assessment Center (DAAC) using data that is generated by NFA. NFA is a cartesian-based Navier-Stokes solver with Volume of Fluid (VOF) interface tracking. NFA is written in Fortran 90 and MPI. We hope that you enjoy surfing our virtual waves. We are grateful to our sponsors including Dr. Patrick Purtell, Dr. Arthur Reed, Dr. Thomas Fu, Dr. Steven Russell, and Dr. Ronald Joslin. The developers of NFA include Dr. Douglas Dommermuth, Thomas O'Shea, Dr. Kyle Brucker, Lucas Rhymes, Donald Wyatt, Scott Graham, Laura Brandt, and Dr. James Rottman. The contributors to the flow visualization include Paul Adams, Randall Hand, Miguel Valenciano, Kevin George, Glen Browning, David Longmire, Tom Biddlecome, Richard Walters, and Dr. Mike Stephens. We are grateful to John Levesque from Cray, Inc. for his assistance with MPI communication.
