Narrated by Abdullah (ra): The Prophet (sa) said, "The best people are those of my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. And then after them will come people whose witness will precede their oaths, and whose oaths will precede their witness (i.e. they are treacherous)."
[Sahih Bukhari, Book 76, #437]

Narrated by Abu Huraira (ra): The Messenger of Allah (sa) said, "There will be tribulations (fitnah) during which a sitting person will be better than the one standing, and the one standing will be better than the one walking, and the one walking will be better than the one running, and whoever exposes himself to these tribulations will be destroyed. So whoever finds a place of protection or refuge should take shelter in it."
[Sahih Bukhari, Book 88, #202]

Narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra): The Messenger of Allah (sa) asked: "Do you know who the bankrupt are?" They said: "The one without money or goods is bankrupt." So the Prophet said: "The bankrupt are those from my nation who come on the Day of Resurrection with prayer, fasting, and charity, but comes also insulting, slandering, consuming wealth, shedding blood, and beating others. They will each be given from his good deeds; if his good deeds run out before the score is settled, their bad deeds will be cast upon him, then he will be thrown into the Fire."
