About Me:

1947 gründeten Rudolf Wanzl sen. und sein Sohn Rudolf in Leipheim / Deutschland eine Werkstatt für Waagenbau und Reparaturdienste. Ein Pilotprojekt mit dem Kassenhersteller NCR in Augsburg eröffnet ihnen 1949 den Einstieg in die Selbstbedienung. Im gleichen Jahr ist Wanzl bei der Premiere des ersten deutschen SB-Ladens in Hamburg mit 20 Einkaufswagen PICK UP dabei - und ab da nicht mehr aus der Branche wegzudenken. 1950 folgen der Platz sparend ineinander schiebbare CONCENTRA mit festem Korb, und ein stapelbarer Einkaufskorb mit Klappbügel als Patent. Seitdem sind es immer wieder Innovationen von Wanzl, die Maßstäbe für den modernen Einkauf und Verkauf setzen. Schon nach wenigen Jahren ist die europäische Marktführerschaft errungen, und heute - über 60 Jahre nach der Firmengründung - ist Wanzl ein international tätiges Unternehmen mit den Geschäfts- und Produktbereichen SB-Systeme, Displays, Ladenbau, Zutrittskontrollen, Logistik+Industrie, Passenger Handling Services und Hotel Service
