It's a problem because we spend so much time together. Guys wont really come up to me when they see these two next to me.

We intimidate them. These two skinny white guys, intimidating the hell out of all macho manly men of the world. We are an impenetrable wall that Nina Dobrev resides behind.

IAN: I would like to see Elena... smile, maybe a little more. She needs a good joke. But regarding what you asked, Damon may or may not have tried to kill her brother; he may or may not have ruined her life in nine ways to Sunday. So I think there would be a serious uphill battle that Damon would have to trudge up to make that happen.
KRISTIN: ...but he's hot. That trumps everything. I know you killed her brother, but I mean... have you seen the guy.
IAN: That's what I said.
KRISTIN: Have you seen how Damon looks?!
IAN: I have to see him everyday!
