Ezra Bang and Hot Machine are an international boy-girl collective who utilize an array of samples, vintage synthesizers and distortion pedals to make what the band have dubbed "guerilla funk". Led by New York born producer Ezra Bang and long time collaborator Linus Jackson, 2009 saw the band make the transition from a shambolic East London spectacle to an unlikely crossover at some of the years biggest festivals. Show stopping sets at Festival Transmusicales de Rennes, T in the Park, Glastonbury, Great Escape, Webster Hall, NYC, & Vice Austria 2nd Birthday Party proved them to be a consistently strong live act.
Having relocated to Berlin, the band is currently working on their debut EP for German label ITD due in summer 2010. Working with producers Howard Gray (The Cure, Art Brut, Age of Chance) and Spider J (Killa Kela, Estelle, Lee 'Scratch' Perry) the record features some surprising collaborations and is a progression of the blueprint laid by the first two singles released on their own Gold Swine imprint 'What U Can't Kill U Must Envy' and double A side 'White Power / Pussy Got 9 Lives', both of which found airplay at BBC 1, BBC 6 and NME Radio.
