I have also built and run for 5 years, a small niche game server called "Chaotic World Legends" for a Dungeons & Dragons based PC game called "Neverwinter Nights" http://cwlweb.servegame.org:16080/
I started an interest in programming at about the age of 10 years old, on an old Amstrad CPC 464, this was back 20 years ago, where I would try (and fail) to create my own basic games using Amsoft Basic.
Everything I know is self taught, I've never been to college or school for anything programming related, and I still have alot to learn.
