The Volvo for life Awards, which is now in its sixth year, is an annual, online search for real-life heroes who are helping improve their communities in Volvo's core value areas of Safety, Quality of Life and Environment. Each year, Volvo receives thousands of nominations at www.volvoforlifeawards.com, and selects top heroes to receive nearly $1 million in funding and other awards. The very best of these heroes are also honored by Volvo executives and celebrity judges at a gala event in New York City. In addition, fbi productions, the producer of the Awards, creates a documentary film about each winning hero. These films are premiered at the annual ceremony and can be viewed at http://www.volvoforlifeawards.com
