Ugh, I wish people would not take the "pro-theocracy" label so literal. It would be more accurate to say many of the candidates would have little problem with religion ("Christian") influenced laws, guidelines, etc, if they cannot DIRECTLY take them from religious texts.

If commercialization works for religions to spread their messages (see the horde of religious TV channels, radio stations, billboards, etc), certainly it is fair for other ideas to be marketed in kind.

I am not sure it was you, but I have said that debate is useless except in political arenas, to sway people's minds to "a way of thinking" (ideology), not on how to think about what. Facts and sound arguments are not to be determined by popularity, demagoguery, or rhetoric.

@offenwrong I know the words that came out of his mouth, but ALL scientific claims are by default "as far as I know". That is one of the problems with language. When regular people use the word "theory", it is in a much broader and weaker sense than when scientists use it for instance.
