Why do you use gravel in your footbath...what purpose does it serve?

i have chronic pain in both my Legs since 1996 , Here is what my Lumbar MRI says

" Straightening of the Lumbar Lordosis, shallow disc bulge at L4 L5, Loss of water content at disc L5 S1 which also shows a shallow , broad based bilateral Protrusion in contact with the dural sac and encroaching into the Neural foramina "

ive tried tons of different chiropractic treatments from Many different Chiropractors all over the Northeast and they Never help or effect my condition . i dont know what to do ?
