Remembering the earlier years, when the crowds were smaller, the hugs longer, the circus being less of a circus around her, the bookstall less of a bazaar, the devotees and organization less of a cult, before the modern tendency to hold the programs in hotels (which is like going to McDonalds for a salad) when the focus was more spiritual than humanitarian or philanthropic. Notice the serene atmosphere of the darshan videos.

The Sai location was a popular long-standing (now defunct) weekly meeting of Sai devotees. It was an unofficial group, with a more relaxed atmosphere, allowing non-Hindus to get a gentler experience of that culture. According to one devotee, Amma was deciding on a West Virginia program before accepting the invitation from the Sai group's leader (Tom S.). She asked him what kind of puja to perform at the altar and he requested "Kali" which Amma performed. Note the burning camphor in the blessed water. This satsang is mentioned in the book "Come Quickly My Darling Children: Stories by Western Devotees". During the darshan for this program, some songs were sung by devotees waiting and others sung by Amma while hugging. Even though it was a Sai group, both the altar and walls had photos of other gurus and saints, which is rare in guru-based groups.
Apparently I deleted the only copies of the old Devi Bhava/puja videos (7), so I'll redo them whenever I get the chance to recapture them. NOTE for downloaders: The '87 videos have a larger file size because I don't have to re-compress the videos now that Youtube has raised their file size limit since last I uploaded these. I've also lost the names of some of the bhajans since last time, so please make a comment on the video or message me to update the video's title if you know the song. **No friend requests accepted on this YT channel, sorry. Don't ask me to send you a DVD unless you buy me a nice new computer first.
Before the dark times, before 'The Empire"... the saga continues. Buwhahahahahahaaaaa!
