I'm not sure what Dave is trying to say here, but I purchased the pathfinder knife months ago and it has served me well. I have no complaints, and feel as if he needs no excuse for such a fine tool. It is espensive, but for a survival tool you can take around the world to beat up then give to you...

Hand axe for the win! I bring a saw and an axe with me every time I'm out in a winter environment. Cuts calorie expense down and doesn't need WD-40 :)

I watched this last night in my debris hut on my phone! What a great setting to watch this next installment! Thanks Dave for another quality video and I'm glad to be sitting here by the fire and out of the rain, unlike those guys!

Another great video! I carry a leatherman core off of Dave's recommendation and it is a great quality tool. I just went on a 3 day trip in the woods with friends and it outperformed a SOG and Gerber tool hands down. A must have!

Dave, I'm glad you read the comment about the roux. Let us know how it turned out! It should be equal parts fat to flour, and be sprinkled in evenly to avoid clumps. Stir constantly over medium heat until a light brown to light peanut butter color. It should be a this paste consistency while hot...

I'm a chef by trade, and I was hoping I could help you with your use of flour in your soups/gravies.What you are trying to make is a "roux" to thicken your stew. A roux is equal parts four and some sort of fat. If you were to melt some lard/tallow, then add flour and stir the flour up in the lar...
