Formed in 1992, the Vineyard Sound has grown into one of the most popular shows on the island of Martha's Vineyard. Comprised of 10 performers from across the country, these college students put together a repertoire of nearly 40 songs to perform for thousands upon thousands of audience members each summer. On June 1st the group moves into a house and begins a rigorous rehearsal schedule sometimes singing into the wee hours of the morning, striving for perfection in each song. Throughout the summer they perform nearly 90 shows including their weekly performances at local churches, charity concerts, and private performances around the island. The apex of their summer occurs each August at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown in front of what has grown to be a sell-out audience each year.
