I specialize in Indian percussion. I have been learning how to play the tabla for 6 years now. I can also play Dholak, Gautam/Udu pot, Naal, and Timbale. I have recently been self teaching myself to play latin congas/bongos as well as the western drum kit.

I understand being self taught can have its cons. Particularly with complicated rhythms that require specific techniques that can only be learnt from a true master. However my skill comes entirely from improvisation and rhythm. I guess you could say that I have a "Drummer's Soul."

Rhythms and beats tend to lay a vital foundation for outstanding pieces of music. I haven't quite mastered the art of western drumming but one day I will.

I believe that multiculturalism is a wonderful thing and I try to express that through my music :)
