Veterans Affairs Canada works to provide exemplary, client-centred services and benefits that respond to the needs of veterans and their families, in recognition of their services to Canada; and to keep the memory of their achievements and sacrifices alive for all Canadians.

We endeavour to keep alive the achievements and sacrifices made by those who served Canada in times of war, armed conflict and peace and to promote an understanding of the significance of these efforts in Canadian life as we know it today.

Part of that is engaging with you and that's why we're here, on YouTube.
So tell us what you think, and how you remember. Leave a comment. Upload a video. You can join us on Facebook, too: http://www.facebook.com/Can...

You can find more multimedia resources, including videos, photos, audio recordings and other documents and information, on the Veterans Affairs website: http://www.vac.gc.ca

Thank you for these videos. We have a dear family friend who is a WWII veteran and he has told me so many stories and firsthand accounts of the experiences he endured as a prisoner of war in Germany. We owe so much to ALL of our veterans and active duty military. My grandfather was a WWII veteran who died before I was old enough to remember him but my mother has told me so much about him.
I think it's important to remember all year round but Remembrance Day will always be sacred to me. Thank you is not enough for what our Armed Forces have done, past and present to ensure that we enjoy the freedoms we have today.
LEST WE FORGET. Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU.

I was born in 1950~ the post WWII generation ~ the grand-daughter of veterans and the daughter of veterans. I have lived through the era of the Korean War, the Cold War, Vietnam War and other conflicts becoming too many to mention. I am blessed to have grown up in a country where war has not been fought on my doorstep. The men and women who have served throughout all those conflicts and peacekeeping missions to ensure that freedom and safety exists have my respect. I have, thus far, reaped the benefits of their service and I am very, very grateful.

These websites are a great idea especially for vets who might not be able to get out to receive the accolades they are due. Good on you Vetrabs Affairs!

Every day, I savour the ability to question my country's government without fear of retribution; this is only possible thanks to those who've laid their lives on the line - then, now, and in the future. A big "thank you" from the bottom of my heart. Lest we forget.

Great channel. It's good to see this type of use of Youtube for other than silly videos.

Thank you so much! My father would be 86 if he were still living. He was a medic in the third wave at Normandie. He never stopped talking about it. I would never even have been born if he hadn't been lucky enough to make it out alive.
