About Working Toward A Better World, One Small Step At A Time

This channel is meant to be an information source for people who are considering going vegan or vegetarian, or for curious omnivores who wish to better understand us (maybe because a friend or family member is vegan or vegetarian).

The channel's goal is to clear up some of the many myths surrounding vegan and vegetarian diets, and to educate people of the benefits to the environment, our health, and to animals that come with such life styles.

Any videos in my favourites will also be on such topics, so be sure to check them out too.

Vegan: Avoid all foods, clothes, and other items made of materials from animal origins. Doesn't eat meat, fish, poultry, dairy, eggs, or honey. Those who are unfamiliar with veganism often view it in negative terms, associating it with a list of products to avoid. But for most people, going vegan is an incredibly positive experience. Sure you give up a few taste sensations, but those are replaced with new, more interesting, healthier, and often much better taste sensations. You also re-gain access to your compassionate self and develop a deeper relationship with the universal desire to express kindness in all parts of life. Veganism embodies the Eastern philosophy of 'ahimsa', nonviolence toward and respect for all sentient beings. There may be nothing more powerful than veganism and 'ahimsa' to change our world for the better.

Lacto-ovo Vegetarian: When most people think of vegetarians, they think of lacto-ovo-vegetarians. People who do not eat beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish or animal flesh of any kind, but do eat eggs and dairy products are lacto-ovo vegetarians (lacto comes from the Latin for milk, and ovo for egg). This is the most common type of vegetarian in North America.--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lacto Vegetarian: Describes a vegetarian who does not eat eggs, meat, fish, or poultry, but does eat dairy products. Many Hindu vegetarians are lacto-vegetarians who avoid eggs for religious reasons while continuing to eat dairy.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ovo Vegetarian: Refers to people who do not eat meat, fish, poultry or dairy products, but do eat eggs. Some people are ovo-vegetarians because they are lactose-intolerant.-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Poultritarian: A person whose diet consists of vegetarian fare and select cuts of chicken and turkey, typically lean and boneless. They do not enjoy red meat, seafood, or any other meat in their diet.
