Founded in 1960 by Mike Vasilantone and his wife Fannie, Vastex has been at the forefront of textile screen printing for over four decades. Mike founded Vastex (a combination of Vasilantone and textile) when as a screen printer; he realized there was a serious need in the market for a way to mass-produce screen printed t-shirts for the burgeoning t-shirt market. Being an engineer and an inventor, Mike proceeded to develop the products and standards that are still used by most manufacturers and screen printers today! Some of his patented inventions include the dual rotary printing press (where the pallets and print heads both rotate), the 4-way stretch hold down for printing jackets and dual layer fabrics and the air recirculation system for dyers. Other inventions
include the first small product electric infrared dryer, a unique belt alignment / tracking device (patent filed for) and a small mechanical squeegee.

In 1998, Mike and Fannie retired and turned the reigns over to their son Mark who has continued Mikes tradition of inventing and improving screen printing products for the industry. The designs and inventions developed by Mike and Mark are being used all over the world today. Because of its history, Vastex is well known throughout the world but has managed to stay a family owned and operated enterprise. The machinery produced is of the highest quality so that larger businesses can use our products but are still affordable enough for small businesses to own and enjoy as well.
