This server looks like it takes its privacy/exclusivity VERY seriously, Google can't even find them. If there's a website for the server it would be great to place a link. (if anything just to keep track of the story/events and root for favorite nation)

the Runecraft mod (its a multiplayer server mod so it is likely) lets you phase blocks so that might be how they make a bridge disappear.

with some more work this would be great, especially with the Aether collab (air realm) , nethercraft enhancing the nether (fire realm) this could fit as the water realm and the normal world as the "earth" or mixed realm (maybe all fit nicely into a mod pack like bukkit/runecraft)
