About this user

I am a guy who is frustrated with the quality of service you receive at the local MoCo service center. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. After 15 years of Harley Davidson ownership, I now have full complement of tools to maintain my own motorcycle.

Now, with my new camera in hand, I want to share that you too can work on your own bike. As I experience future mechanical casualties or complete routine maintenance, I will share my failures and success with you.

I have not been to MMI, nor do I have the experience of many others you may chat with on the web. I have a great respect for the service mechanic; that may be formally educated through professional schooling or through years of experience.

My goal is to expose procedures involved in areas, which I thought to myself, were too big, or too tuff of a job for me to perform.

If you don't own the service manual for your machine and you don't own a torque wrench, it might be a good idea for you to decide if you are ready to commit to servicing your own motorcycle. If you have decided you are ready, then those are the first two items you are going need.

Lastly, I know we all want to save a buck, but please keep your local custom shop in mind. When I am in a jamb, those are the guys who have helped me out. For that reason I will not change a tire off the rim. I always take the tire and rim off the bike and drop it off for changing.
