Have been an Amateur Radio Operator since 1994.Interested in electronics and radio from an early age,around 4 years old was fascinated how music and voices came from the radio and how people appeared on the t.v. screen. Active member of local amateur radio club A.V.R.A.C,Avalon Amateur Radio Club,and presently on the executive as a director.Our club is affiliated with The Canadian Red Cross and we are the official Red Cross amateur radio group here in Newfoundland and we help them with radio communications.We have a fully equipped amateur radio station located at the Red Cross Headquarters in St.John's,NL.,Callsign VO1CRC,we operate HF,VHF,and UHF amateur equipt and maintain a commercial VHF repeater for the Red Cross Disaster Response Team,whose members are not licenced radio amateurs.Check out our clubs website at www.avrac.com . I am a former soldier of 1st Battalion Royal Newfoundland Regiment,a Canadian Armed Forces Reserve Army Infantry Regiment here in St.John's,15 yrs. service,and retired as the Regimental Signals N.C.O in April 1993,responsible for maintaining land tactical radio communications equipment and training personnel in the operation of military radio procedure and equipment.
