VISIONS communicates the emotions of real life through ideas, energy and expression.

VISIONS Contemporary Ballet represents a broad community with different cultures, religious views and ethnicities. Reflecting this diversity, VISIONS' dancers move seamlessly through many genres of dance, consisting mainly of a ballet base technique, with elements of modern, jazz, African and Latin dance movements, as well as traditional spiritual or gospel dance. Choreographically, each of these dance forms wraps into a more contemporary ballet style.

The company is a passionate group of dancers who tackle cutting-edge choreography using precision pointe work and articulated bare feet.

VISIONS Contemporary Ballet, established in 2005, has performed at a number of venues, including many in NYC: November 2010 at Dance Theatre of Harlem and Chen Dance Center as part of the Uptown/Downtown Work-in-progress performance development program sponsored by The Field/Lower Manhattan Cultural Council/Harlem Arts Alliance; April 2010 at Harlem Stage/Aaron Davis Hall; in September and November 2009 VISIONS presented an evening of works, "In Remembrance" at the Roy Arias Theater; and was part of the Blaktino Performance Series, the Bronx, in October 2009 and 2010. VISIONS has also performed at Abrons Arts Center/Henry Street Settlement, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, The Flea Theater, Chashama, Kabbalah Centre and the Producers Club.

VISIONS Contemporary Ballet is open to board members, supporters, contributors and donors. We are also always looking for collaborators and dancers with strong ballet/point, modern, African dance or hip-hop ability. We are working towards performing in Detroit and Atlanta and also to perform our New York Season Spring 2011. Funding is sorely needed in order for VISIONS to continue.
