When a strong Atheist says "there is no god," they usually mean "no theistic god"; and that can indeed be proven. A deistic god however, can not be proven or disproved.

The belief in absolutes from a strong atheists perspective can quite reasonably be grounded in the repeated observations and accurate predictions based on the hypothesis that said thing is indeed an absolute.
Atheism is indeed a description relative to the action of believing in theistic beings....

@sarsfieldusmc The inquisition was specifically motivated by religious ideology. There is no "Atheist Ideology" apart from a non-belief in any deity, and I don't see how you can link any action directly to a non-belief.
