MMA is the future of sport combat but it still needs boxing as to be of a decent standard simply because the MMA fighters use boxing techniques. There is no point in having a rivalry between the two sports.....MMA fighters have got over it, boxers need to accept MMA is not going away.

MMA is going through another evolution right now. People were too quick to discard TKD, Karate, Kung fu etc techniques after several practitioners competed poorly against grapplers and Muay Thai fighters in the early UFC's. Subsequently, everyone went to BJJ, Wrestling, Sambo, Judo, MT and boxing...

As long as the UFC upholds the integrity, honesty, respect and all the other positive characteristics found in the Martial Arts, it will be around for a very long time.
