Formed in 2003, Urban Suicide started out as a way for Chook and Monkey to combine their frustrations with the world through music.
"The name stood for how much we didn't agree that society swept suicide under the rug and made it a 'do not talk about' topic..." - Monkey
In 2004 the band started recording their 1st demo '211 311 NoMoney' with Chook on guitars and vocals, Monkey on guitars, bass and vocals, and rapper Shaan Hatley (then known as Emcee Nomo) doing guest vocals...
Once the cd was completed, Chook and Monkey decided to branch out and take the band to the next level...
2005 saw the addition of Mike Burns on bass and Will Abbate on drums. Immediatley rocking the Melbourne night life for the next 2 and a half years.
Late 2008 saw the departure of Will in the band and the beginning of a new age.
Urban Suicide started recording another demo, with Monkey taking over drumming responsibilities for the cd.
In 2009 a young drummer named Nic Wood offered his services to the band, which they jumped at... They finished the demo and hit back at the scene hard.
Only to lose Mike on bass to carpal tunnel in both wrists
2010 saw the band almost ready to throw it in, when bassist Jordon Klowss put up his hand to fill the gap.
"We took that whole year off... Mainly to teach Jordon all our material, but also just to take a break to find the love again..." - Monkey
2011 came around very quickly for the band, but due to the year off Nic decided to put his full attention into other projects, therefore leaving Urban Suicide.
So, Urban Suicide are now looking for a new drummer... And hope to have the position filled ASAP... So they can get back into the studio to start recording the next chapter... Then back to taking over the world with their on stage madness!
