Birthed in a foundation of Southern Soul and Bluegrass music in America, Urban Savant (Savant for short) has always had an ear and a voice for musical performance. However, it wasnt until his later years in college that he discovered the music genres that inspired and stirred him: Hip Hop, Drum & Bass, and Breaks. Initiating his DJ career in 2002, he rocked local Sorority/Fraternity parties (Sigma Sigma Sigma, Delta Zeta, Pi Kappa Phi, etc.) and various North Carolina Clubs (Grasshopper, Blind Willys, Hammerjax, Club Fusion, etc.). Gaining recognition as an influential part of Wilmingtons Club and Party scene, Savant finds himself Emceeing and Hosting more then actually Djing. In 2004, opportunity arises and Savant finds his calling after winning first place at string of local and regional MC battles (including the infamous Brewery in Raleigh, NC). Growing tired of meaningless emcee massacres, he looks to the east in search of enlightenment and solace. In 2005, opportunity and circumstance combine to land Savant in the heart of Asia: China! Unable to rest on his past successes, he works his way back into the music industry. Amazed by the energy and freedom of Jazz music, he co-founds Three Nations. His emceeing and turntablism elevates Three Nations to the title of Best Jazz Band in Guangzhou in a mere 6 months! Deciding to go solo once again, Savant continues to rhyme and deejay around China at various top-class clubs and national events. Until in 2006, returning to his hometown, Savant takes a break from the limelight to concentrate his focus on beat production. After successfully completing 20-plus groundbreaking hip-hop instrumentals, he decides to return to China in 2007 for more lyrical inspiration. Currently running his self-built music production studio (VIP 804), he is developing his jump off album and creating a fan base via the Internet and showcasing his talents at individual events locally. Savant has also recently teamed up with the famous DJ, Grant Stetski, to create a new high-acclaimed electronic experimental group called White Noize. So you best keep your eyes and ears open, because Savant will slam your mouth shut with an eclectic array of music in a venue near you!
Urban Savant出生于美国，从小就对音乐及表演充满热情。然而直到大学，他才发现真正能够感染和激发自己的音乐：HipHop,Drum&Bass及Breaks。2002年Urban Savant开始了自己的DJ生涯，于当地很多著名的酒吧和派对表演，在Wilmington得到认可的他又逐渐发现自己在MC和主持方面的天赋。2004年，Savant在众多MC比赛中夺魁（包括在自己家乡Raleigh,NC举行的Brewery MC比赛），于是，机遇和使命在他的身上降临。渐渐对接踵而至的残酷的MC Battle感到厌倦的Savant开始将目光转移至东方，渴望得到启迪和安慰。2005年的一次偶然的机会他来到亚洲的心脏：中国！不愿停滞于过去成就的Savant马上在这里重新开始了自己的音乐事业。被爵士音乐的能量和自由感染的他在这里建立了爵士乐队Three Nations。Savant的黑角技术和出色的MC功底与爵士旋律完美结合，该乐队仅在成立的六个月后就被称为广州最优秀的爵士乐队。之后，Savant决定单飞，开始了巡回于全中国各大俱乐部的DJ及MC演出。2006年，他回到故乡休养，并在那段时间内致力于音乐创作。成功完成了20余首Underground HipHop曲目的他决定再次回到中国寻找作词灵感。现在，Savant在自己一手设计的工作室（VIP 804）里准备自己的专辑，以及策划演出活动。Savant目前亦与著名的DJ Grant Stetski成立了组合White Noize。而他们也正在用绝妙动听的音乐和充满能量的表演震撼你的听觉和视觉!
