When United were playing in Division 2 during the 1974-1975 season, they still had the highest average attendance of any club in the country, including Division 1.

City have had a higher average attendance ranking than they have average league position every decade.
Between 1946 and 1949 United played at Maine Road whilst reconstruction work was being done on Old Trafford after the bombings in the war. In the first season, when City won the league, United had an average attendance of 4,662 more than City at their own stadium. In the second season, United had an average attendance of 12,165 more than City at their own stadium. In the third season, United had an average attendance of 10,109 more than City at their own stadium.
United have a higher average attendance than City for every decade since the 1940's.
Between 1947 and the year before the Munich Air Disaster, there was an average of almost 7,000 more United fans attending games than City.
City were a more successful club on the pitch than United in the 1970s, yet there was a difference of over 13,000 in our average attendances, with United the best supported club of the decade.

About Me:
And I'm not jealous or bitter of Liverpool Football Club. They're a great club with big history. I'm not "bitter" to admit that.
But it really is a shame about these pathetic "supporters" that gives such a great football club a bad name with the Munich taunts.
I live in London, Fulham so if I were a "Glory hunter" and I only choose a team that is winning trophies, I would've just supported Chelsea when they were winning back-to-back titles and the League & FA Cup Double in 2010. They're my local team here as well and they're much closer to me than Fulham football club. Some others also think just because i'm from London it makes me a "cockney". Trust me, I sound nothing like cockney! Besides, most of the "cockneys" come from the East end of London.. FACT!
I was born in 1989 and I started supporting Manchester United at around 91,92 (from what I've been told by family members). At around that time United were hardly winning any major trophies, whilst Liverpool were the biggest and best club in English football.
On YouTube, peoples definition of "owning" somebody is saying a few of the most childish little insults and then saying, "I OWN YOU!". People like that don't even know the meaning of the word. It is quite hilarious to see them make a complete cunt of themselves time and time again.
Also, the "Internet Warriors" on here who try to act tough behind their little computer screens are a complete JOKE, and should never, ever be taken seriously no matter how hard they try. And i'm sure everyone knows those sort of cunts wouldn't have the balls to say any of it in person, so it's pointless wasting your time.

not bad for a rubbish team in decline with a bagload of injuries to be level on points with the best team in the world, right? :D
after the end to last season , summer , and pretty much everything up until november we've had , to be top 4 2moro (potentially) would be unreal
