Many argue that a barebottom tank may be bad for axolotls seeing as the glass is so smooth, they cant get any traction with their feet and that this can stress them... Thus in turn causing a decreased lif...

Haha thats pretty funny, that they reject the worms :P Could be depending on type of worm u give them actually, some worms secrete a liquid that is very bitter as a defense, my axes have spit out a couple of worms because of this. Though i guess they can be picky with foods :P Mine seriously eat ...

I have two, had them for 5 months now. Cool pets indeed! U can opt to feed him earthworms aswell for a bit of variety, i also give mine woodlice as a small treat now and then :)

Nice idea with hydroponics! :) Its a very cheap and efficient means of filtering water.. you could opt for just having the hydroponics outside of the aquarium? This way lighting would in no means affect the aquarium :) just set it up similar to a sump filter, i am sure u could make one rather cheap

Its good you are giving them salt bathes but its not actually necessary unless the wounds do become infected :) Fridging them will have them heal faster though :) They are fairly hardy creatures

When you decide to keep pets captive, you also take on the responsibility of caring for them, seeing as they have no other means of surviving and in this case, your doing a very half ass job..
