I had the good fortune to meet Paul Miles-Kingston at Winchester Cathedral in mid-1985 (I was there for morning service). He came across as an extremely pleasant young chap. I always knew he'd go on to achieve great things.

Love this song big time. I'm just disappointed that it never gets any air-play on the radio these days (unless you choose it for Steve Wright's Non-stop Oldies).

Mike Oldfield is a truly talented musician. This I regard as one of his best ever, and indeed, an all-time great. Top of the class Mike. :)

I am a Morpethian myself and was absolutely shocked when I saw this on the national news. My heart went out to all those in Morpeth who were affected by these terrible floods.

Is there no footage of Soft Cell performing this record with Cindy Ecstacy actually appearing with them? I did see them on TOTP earlier on in 1982.

Takes me back to 1978 when I believe this song first hit the scene. Sylvester could easily be credited with laying the foundation stone for High Energy music which became more prevalent during the mid 80s.

@nanlisa I think it rather depends on what time of year you choose to visit. I went there once in mid-November 1992 and apart from the odd shower (not always accompanied by thunder and lightning) the weather was fairly good. Never too hot, just bearable. @yungmoneyD Don't think it did. When he stood in front of a class of schoolkids and recited the pledge of allegiance, he really showed his true colours. I think he regretted any association with General Adnan and Colonel Mustafa. To me, he is and always will be, a proud American.
