I saw a comment you left on SuperJeenius' video about LPing and thought I'd answer your question that you left there, here.
Different LPers handle RPGs in a different manner. Perosnally, with text heavy LPs I tend to voice it all myself now, as I understand that some people that watch, may be watching other things at the same time, or trying to type comments as the video is playing, so I voice act for the most part. I find that it can be fun, and makes the experience more entertaining - especially if you're really getting into it and adapting voices for the characters.
As for games that have a lot of VO already, I tend to comment between the voices sometimes, depending on what the game is. Sometimes I'll not comment at all and wait for the characters to stop talking. Depends on the situation I guess. I tend to never talk during cutscenes (such as FMV cutscenes).
