Tutor Profile: Lorraine Bow
I believe that if I can play ukulele, everyone can. I want to open up fretted instrument playing to everyone. I have successfully taught many hundreds of children and adults, so I am very confident that I will have you playing too.
I will not baffle you with science. You will progress and play ukulele quickly even if you have no formal musical background. (Provided you practise between classes. ;)
I have 3 current enhanced CRB disclosures. My day job is teaching ukulele to whole classes of children in schools (30 of them at any one time)
Adult classes move quickly. You'll strum a tune within an hour!
I was taught how to play ukulele by Hester & George from the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain in 2007. Prior to that I had played 'London's Burning' badly on the recorder at school. I remember how it feels to be unable to play a stringed instrument, or any instrument for that matter! I started the ukulele jam night, Ukulele Wednesdays, and the band KaraUke, which luckily, have been very successful.
Teaching Qualifications: PTLLS (Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector - City and Guilds), KS2 Music CPD Qualification.
Professional memberships: Musician's Union, National Association of Music Educators.
