Congratulations to everyone who participated in Season One of YouTube Idol! We have been so gratified to have participants from so many diverse countries throughout the world. Countries like: Thailand, Hong Kong, The United States, Guam, New Zealand, Ireland, Belgium, Mexico, Germany, Canada, Norway, Netherlands, Malaysia, France, The United Kingdom, Scotland, The Philippines and Holland.

It's been totally amazing to us. People just left on their own will always get along...if governments aren't allowed to interfere. No politics allowed here. Just people!

And what talented people! Jude93 and I thank each and every one of you. We really never anticipated such an incredible amount of support and enthusiasm.

Congratulations to our Top Ten contestants and to Bidebak and SinamonMystiq in particular.

SinamonMystiq, as the winner of YouTube Idol: Season One, your favorite video is being featured on our channel and will remain there throughout Season Two.

You have likely noticed that we have removed the channel comments from our channel. That is because we have suspended voting and will not allow voting to proceed until September 1st, when all contestants for Season Two have been favorited.

Please send us your videos to favorite - We'll be accepting new entries from now until August 31st.

SAK59 and Jude93 present YouTube Idol.

Here's how it works:

You record yourself singing with your webcam or camcorder. It could be your own original song or a cover of someone else's song. It doesn't matter, the decision is yours. You then upload your video to YouTube and send it to us as an attachment to a message. We will then add your video to our favorites. We will receive videos until a specified date: Season two - until August 31st. At that time we will reinstate the comments on our channel and voting can begin for the second season. Voting will continue until the end of October when we will announce the Top Nine performers.

At that point, you members of the YouTube community vote on your favorite video of the 9 eligible. We only want comments on the channel; no votes cast as comments on our videos, or comments on the performers' videos, or private messages to us. In other words, we want all phases of the contest to be visible to everyone. We will not participate or allow our biases to interfere with the selection of the winner. All contestants can track how they're doing by visiting this channel.

The winner will have his or her winning video as the featured video on our channel, which will then be viewable by everyone throughout the 3rd season. Fame and Glory will be the Grand Prize!

We are doing this because we enjoy American and Canadian Idol and believe that the YouTube community may enjoy this as much.
