It was so orignal and fast. i hadn't seena nything like that before." if you watch that from 7:40 till 9:15 you can see that dave more than laid the groundwork for kirk and dave helped metallica establish they're reputation as fast, loud, and heavy. in part 2 behind the music, the demo dave circulated and got them famous. It made it's way to new york and the founder of megaforce records wanted to sign them and create a record. without james and daves guitar sound metallica goes nowhere. they wouldn 't have even made kill em all. It's completely ridiculous that some random dood (probably someone who wasn't even alive in the 80's) on the internet is going around spreading this retarded crap about Dave Mustaine "ripping off" Metallica when this was something that was NEVAH even an issue in the 80's. You do know that Dave and Metallica have made up right? That he played a reunion set w/ them on their 30th anniversary? As well as dates (with Megadeth) on the same bill with Slayer and Anthrax? Freaking Metallica admits that Dave had a huge impact in the formation of their sound now. What is your creepy obsession with Dave that won't allow you to do the same? I stand with scott ian in that Dave Mustaine is the ture inventor of speed metal. Scott is not the only "OG" metal master that feels this way. look it up douche bag! google it, Ask.com it, take the time to wonder what other "metal" bands think of your topics.
